"There and Back Again"

This tapestry weaving is
probably my current pride and
joy. I began designing this
piece and warping my loom for
it when I moved to Madison,
WI in August 2005. I finished
it in July 2006.
"There and Back Again"
represents the point in my life
where I was moving a lot, and
there was wonder in the Rocky
Mountains, but there was a
lack of anything that was
"home", even in the natural
setting.
I had moved to Boulder, CO in
August of 2004. When
November hit me I realized
there was little change in color
in my outdoor surroundings. I
had never imagined a Fall
without the gift of
color-changing leaves to ready
me for the winter!
This is a very vivid memory
since it brought me to the

everything was going to be different.
All in all my time in Colorado was wonderful, and this piece is to
remind me of my first big move and the changes that happed,
along with all the changes I will anticipate with excitement over
my years.
It is also the only weaving I have worked on for a full year. It
took me until 2008 to actually have the desire to weave a
tapestry again. I have just done some smaller tapestries.
"There and Back Again" is 4 1/2 ft x 2 1/2 ft.
