"Erte Inspiration"
2005
Erte is an artist that I have always admired
and from time to time his pieces inspire my
work. I love the simplicity of the faces within
his work and I wanted to integrate that into
my own.
This piece is done in the Theo Mooreman inlay
weave technique. The main piece is done in
hand-dyed rayon (dyed by myself), and the
inlay is cotton and rayon chenille.
It is 43iches long by 17 1/2 inches wide. It
is hung from a dowel rod, but I could
certainly mount it differently.
$1000.00
On-loom (part of my process is to draw a
cartoon first and pin it to my weaving as I
weave).
